Industry 4.0
The specific Industry 4.0 concept of Digital Transformation initiatives in the Industrial sector, although the term “sector” must be understood in the broadest and most extended sense.
As Helmut Karl Hampp, leader of our Industry 4.0 group, points out, this term refers to the conception that we are experiencing a fourth industrial revolution.
If the 1st was caused by the invention of the steam engine, the 2nd introduced the production in series and the 3rd brought the use of information technologies and robotization, now we are entering the phase of massive application of digital technologies, used not only in industrial processes, but throughout the value chain.
As a process of Digital Transformation, and according to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism in its publication “Connected Industry 4.0”, its initiatives impact on the three fundamental axes previously mentioned: Business model, processes and products.
In IDiA we have several leading partners in the implementation of Industry 4.0 concepts in their industrial environments, organized in a very active working group.
